Enjoy fika whilst Swedish history surrounds you @ Café Muren in Gamla Stan

We found this place quite by accident as it doesn’t look like anything special from the outside. Inside however, this roomy café exposes an original arch & stone wall, which combined with the brickwork gives the place a real sense of history & character.

But there are plenty of cafés & restaurants that are interesting in Stockholm…and loads of blogs & websites that will tell you about them…that’s not what we’re after here… yes, we do want to discover & explore interesting places, but we also want to uncover these unique places that also offer us good value.
I like that this place has signs outside showing the offers they have on, such as coffee & waffle deals (waffles & pancakes are big in Sweden). A coffee & waffle was 59Kr on the day we went – not bad, especially when the waffles are substantial.

Overall: Nothing amazing but a simple, cozy cafe.
