Täby Drive-In Loppis: Sweden’s most popular car boot sale

During the summer months in Sweden, Täby Drive-In-Loppis serves as the largest flea markets in Stockholm and has been running for over 10 years.

For those who don’t know about Täby Loppis, it is a very large (and by all accounts very good) car boot sale – running every weekend from the end of May until start of October. Sellers pay a flat rate to sell second-hand wares from the boot of their car – which makes for some very interesting collections.

With some sellers coming with their vans and trailers, you can find everything here from furniture, lots of baby and children’s clothes and toys, artwork, vinyl, adult fashion, homeware, jewellery and of course – everything you didn’t even know you wanted…

Of course, what makes Täby Drive-In-Loppis an interesting day out, and a place to revisit time after time, are the different sellers and treasures that you will find each weekend.

If you love second-hand bargain hunting and haven’t yet ventured to Täby Loppis (or car boot sale) – it is a must: and alongside hunting out great, it really is something to witness the draw of the second-hand culture in Sweden with the masses of people that come to as both sellers and buyers.

And in case you get peckish, there may be a few stall that sell their own baked goods and foods, and there is always a korv (hotdog), glass (Icecream) and läsk (soda) stand where you can refuel before round-two (or three or four!) of your second-hand shopping begins…

If you travel by car, parking is free in the large car park next to Täby-Loppis. If you take public transport – the 604 bus stops very close to the Loppis.

Location: Galoppvägen, 183 67 Täby
Opening Times: Every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00-16:00 (note that Täby Drive-In-loppis is often closed for midsummer weekend in June and make sure you check their website for other weekend closures before going)

And if you're planning on visiting Stockholm any time soon, Booking.com has some great deals on hotels in and around the city. Highly recommended!
